Great Granny Carrie, my namesake, lived here. Then her daughter Eulalia, then her daughter Deborah, and her daughter Kerrie(me) lived here briefly in the late 1970s. Women were not allowed to finance real estate on their own until the 1970s so it's a good thing it was given to Carrie by her sister. It was a good run for the ladies. None of the afore mentioned women left the astounding mess. That was done by She-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named. Mom and I are working on it, but it's daunting.

Below are pictures from long ago

It takes too much time and money to stay in a motel while cleaning up so mom bought a 20 year old trailer. It seemed like a good idea at the time. It seems like more work now. Learning never stops.

My mom spent many summers on the farm when she was a kid. She's always wanted to live here. I hope that can happen someday.  In addition to the mess created by our kin, we have an old well that does nothing but pollute. Rumor has it that the oil company that manages it may be bought out soon. That is how orphan wells are created. In order to get our well capped we'd probably have to spend as much on attorneys as it would be to hire it done. I really should start doing something about that.
